Nuno fumes at VAR as West Ham eye three more signings

da imperador bet: Nuno Espirito Santo criticised VAR decisions after his West Ham side slipped to a 2-1 defeat at home to fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest.

With two minutes remaining, goalkeeper Alphonse Areola came out to punch clear a corner and caught Morgan Gibbs-White in the face. VAR sent referee Tony Harrington to the monitor and after he relayed the bad news to the home crowd, Gibbs-White lashed in the winner.

“I was a goalkeeper and you cannot stop your movement, you go for the ball – it has a trajectory and a line,” said Nuno. “How many times you see this happen and nothing given. Not in my days and not today, it should not be given.

“That is how I see it. We have the referee, the VAR and we have to accept. For me it is not a penalty.”

With the Irons now seven points behind Tuesday’s opponents, with a worse goal difference to boot, it is no surprise to see them getting busy in the transfer market.

Traore is perhaps the most exciting of the three despite his lack of end product always having been a problem, with Fulham manager Marco Silva claiming earlier this year the Spaniard is “almost unstoppable”.

The former Middlesbrough man has started just once in the Premier League this season, with a further 14 appearances from the bench.
