da blaze casino: This season is shaping up to be a memorable one for Aston Villa.

da bet nacional: Unai Emery’s side have booked their place in the next round of the FA Cup, are second in the Europa League, and remain very much in the Premier League title race.

In fact, thanks to the Villans’ win away to Newcastle United and Arsenal’s loss to Manchester United on Sunday, the gap has closed to just four points.

Emiliano Buendía was one of Villa’s best players against the Toon, so fans should welcome reports linking the club to someone who’d be a dream signing for him.

Aston Villa target dream signing for Buendía

There have been more than a handful of players who have really stood out for Villa this season, from Morgan Rogers to Matty Cash and even Ollie Watkins in recent weeks.

Mega money deals, controversial moves and big-name flops. This is the home of transfer news and opinion across Football FanCast.

Buendía is another, who looks to be reaching the level that so many hoped he would when he first joined the club in the summer of 2021.

For example, in 30 appearances, totalling 1446 minutes, the Argentine maestro has scored seven goals and provided four assists.

That comes out to an impressive average of a goal involvement every 2.72 games, or every 131.454 minutes.

So with that in mind, it’s not a surprise to learn that the club are keen on signing someone who’d help get even more out of the 29-year-old.

At least that is according to a recent report from Football Insider, which claims that Aston Villa are very interested in Jean-Philippe Mateta.

In fact, the report goes a step further, revealing that while they may have to wait until the summer to get their man, Crystal Palace may accept around £40m to sell their wantaway star.

One reason the fee isn’t unreasonable is that, come the summer, the Frenchman will have just a year left on his deal, and next January he’d be free to negotiate a pre-contract with a team abroad.

This could still be a complicated transfer to get over the line, but given Mateta’s immense ability, it’s one Villa should be all over, especially as he could be a dream signing for Buendía.

Why Mateta would be a dream for Buendía

It might sound rather simplistic, but the primary reason Buendía would love to play alongside Mateta at Villa is his output and his ability to create chances for his teammates.

After all, whether he is starting out wide or in attacking midfield, the Argentine’s main job in the team is to score goals or provide assists, which is something the Palace man should help him with.

For example, despite struggling somewhat this season, the Frenchman has still managed to score ten goals and provide two assists in 34 appearances, totalling 2707 minutes.

That comes out to an impressive average of a goal involvement every 2.83 games, or every 225.58 minutes.

For comparison’s sake, Rogers and Watkins are the Villans’ top scorers this term with eight each in 32 games.

Furthermore, if the West Midlanders were to sign the former Mainz man, it’s not like they would be doing so off of one impressive campaign; he’s been a dangerous goalscorer for some time now.

For example, in the 23/24 season, the Sevran-born poacher scored 19 goals and provided six assists in 39 appearances, totalling 2574 minutes, which is a goal involvement on average every 1.56 games, or every 102.96 minutes.

Then, in the following campaign, he scored 17 goals and provided four assists in 46 appearances, totalling 3301 minutes, which is a goal involvement every 2.19 games, or every 157.19 minutes.

Finally, unlike some of the club’s other targets, the “extraordinary” striker, as dubbed by journalist Rory Smith, is Premier League proven and therefore should be able to hit the ground running in Birmingham.

Ultimately, it could be a complicated transfer to get done, but given Mateta’s incredible ability and the fact that he could be a dream teammate for Buendía, Villa should go all out to bring him to the club this year.
